Are there Techbuilt homes being constructed today?

No. The Techbuilt name continued to be used for years as the company changed hands. There are currently companies using the name or a similar name that don’t appear to have any lineage to the original.

I recently was informed by a historian that his house is a Techbuilt house. I knew the previous owners. I was just a kid when I first entered the prefab home. I didn’t know the house was modular, nor would I probably care, but now I find it very interesting, at the age of 65. It seems to me that Karl Koch wanted to redefine the family through architecture and design. I am a big Buckminster Fuller fan. I was wondering if Bucky had an impact on Koch’s approach to problem solving. Regardless, I like seeing the promise of the future in Techbuilt homes. Thank you for responding and creating this online archive. I enjoyed watching the following promotional video for Techbuilt house. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsiT8tPt4Yc

Great question. I did a project on Fuller as an undergraduate. In fact, I visited his gravesite when I was in Boston doing Techbuilt research. I would need to check the timing on their work, but I don’t recall any direct connections or influence between them.
